Thank you card from Becca and Pete's Wedding @ Dove Barn - Groton, Suffolk

Back in July I had the pleasure of photographing Becca and Pete's Wedding at Dove Barn, Groton. They had gorgeous weather for their day and we got loads of wonderful photographs. They were a brilliant couple to work with and despite Pete breaking his leg on his stag do and being on crutches for the wedding (and a long time after) everyone had a fantastic time. It certainly added to this being one of the most memorable weddings I photographed last year. Due to Pete's crutches constraints, them living the other side of the country and the fact that Becca can't drive I only managed to meet with them again recently to design their album (now Pete's leg is healing and he could drive again). I gave them their album last weekend. Here are some images from their album. I love this one of Becca and her father before the service starts.

I think it shows the affection and closeness in their relationship perfectly. The confetti shot was fun as Pete managed to hobble through.

They specifically asked for one of them in the car with Pete's poorly leg which makes for a very different bride and groom in the car type shot!

Finally the dancing was hilarious as Pete made the most of his crutches and danced around Becca.

I also had some of the hardest retouching I have ever done for their wedding. In the church photographs they asked me to remove Pete's crutches and the cup on the floor - this was tricky to do as the floor had a tiled pattern and getting the perspective for the retouching right was hard but after many hours working on these images I managed it. The before and after shots of this one are below.

All in all it was a wonderful day and I was very touched to receive a thank you card from them both this morning which read:
"Dear Hayley, Thank you for all your time, ideas and patience with us over our wedding year! The end product of our wedding album is exactly as we had envisaged and will provide us with many happy memories. All the best of luck with continued success in your business and you can count us for a recommendation as a fantastic wedding photographer. All the very best Becca and Pete."

True to their word I am photographing one of Becca's friend's wedding (Jenny and Angus)later this year up in Scotland which should be magical in the ruins of an old abbey!

Harry & Lucy's Wedding - Mundford

A couple of weeks ago I photographed Harry and Lucy's Wedding at Clare House in Mundford.

They had a church wedding at St George's Church, Methwold. Below are a couple of photographs of them getting married in the church and then them leaving after the ceremony.

Following this they had a marquee wedding close by in Mundford. Lucy's dad (Barry) owns the Crown pub nearby and did all the catering. The food was beautifully presented and this has to be the best variety of fruit we have ever seen at a buffet!

Being a February wedding again we were lucky with the weather and managed to hold on to the light until around 4.45pm so I was able to get some photographs of Harry and Lucy outside before they sat down to eat. I love this photograph of the two of them laughing together and I think it sums up their relaxed attitude towards their wedding very well.

After their buffet meal they had a band called The Fuzz playing who were very good. I will be sending the band some photographs shortly. They played a range of songs from a variety of artists including The Kinks, The Who and The Jam. We see a lot of bands at weddings but this was certainly one of the best. The band played the songs with a great deal of enthusiasm and it showed in the level of their music. Here's a photograph taken without flash (hence the motion blur) that I feel captures the atmosphere of the dancing and the evening.

If you attended Harry and Lucy's Wedding and would like to view their wedding photos these will be up and running in the next couple of days and I am sure they will give you the password once they are back from their honeymoon.

We look forward to hearing from Harry and Lucy again on their return from New Zealand (lucky so and so's) and showing them all their gorgeous photographs. We hope that they have a very happy marriage.

Faith and Phil - Wedding @ The Old Bridge Hotel, Huntingdon

Back at the beginning of January I had the pleasure of photographing Faith and Phil's wedding at The Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon.

For a January Wedding we were extremely lucky with the weather – we had bright blue skies which looked gorgeous against the river. Here’s a photo taken of the happy couple down at the river. When I met with Faith and Phil to design their album just over a week ago they told me how pleased they were that we could get down to the river as apparently this area is now flooded!!!!

As the sun sets early at this time of year it was nice to use it and I really like the effect especially in the photo below.

Instead of a sit down meal, an afternoon tea was prepared. This worked well and the food looked delicious.

If you attended Faith and Phil’s Wedding and would like to view their wedding photos I am sure they will give you the password soon.

I look forward to hearing back from Faith and Phil soon and will put a couple of their album designs on here once they have made their selection. They are a gorgeous couple who I’ve very much enjoyed working with and both David and I wish them a lifetime of happiness together.
