Nadja & Andy - Wedding at The Swan Hotel, Lavenham

We also worked with Nadja and Andy at the end of April whose Wedding we photographed at the Swan Hotel, Lavenham.

Again, as has been the case so far this year, the weather was kind to us and only started spitting with rain when they went in for their meal.

I was with Nadja from the getting ready stage and love this high contrast photograph of her playing with her veil before we have to go for the ceremony.

I love this photograph taken of the two of them during the ceremony. This is one of the few photographs where you can really see Nadja's little bump (she was just over 4 months pregnant and looking radiant).

Nadja really did have the longest veil I think I have ever seen. It was almost impossible to get it completely in all of the photos without making the two of them look like tiny dots on the horizon. Instead of laying out the veil traditionally behind them we decided to try hanging it over the balcony to show just how long it was!

The Swan Hotel is one venue where you can quite easily become lost as it has so many corridors and doors. I love this one taken of the two of them in one of those corridors.

If you attended Nadja and Andy’s Wedding and would like to view their wedding photos they are online now and I am sure they will give you the password to look at them.

I look forward to hearing from Nadja and Andy regarding their photo selections and wish them both many years of happiness - I am sure they are bound to have lots of exciting months ahead of them with the arrival of their little one later this year which I hope they'll stay in touch and tell me about.

Ros and Mark - Wedding at Otley Hall, Suffolk

At the end of April on a lovely, sunny Tuesday afternoon I had the privilege of photographing Ros and Mark's Wedding at Otley Hall, Suffolk. It was a wonderful relaxed affair with everyone enjoying the gardens and tranquil surroundings.

The ceremony itself took place in Otley Hall and I love this photograph of the two of them just as they have been declared husband and wife.

The whole day was so relaxed and calm. We went for a wander round the grounds just before they came in to have their meal. I love these two photographs with the sun behind them as it is going down.

After their meal and before the speeches they cut their cake with great enthusiasm.

I am attempting to photograph couples wedding rings with lots of unusual and different backgrounds this year (as well as more traditional ones). Here's my first of many (hopefully) this time taken on the edge of a plant pot.

If you attended Ros and Mark’s Wedding and would like to view their photos they are online now and I am sure they will give you the password to look at them.

We enjoyed photographing Ros and Mark and sharing in their day. We wish them every happiness in the lives together and I look forward to meeting with Ros and Mark soon to design their photobook with them.

Portrait Session - Norwich

At the beginning of April I photographed a young baby called Charlie in a Portrait session photographed at their home in Norfolk. This session was very special to me as I had photographed his parents wedding a couple of years ago and it is lovely for me to stay in touch with families in this way.

What an adorable little boy they have. Despite being so little, Charlie was a true star and very good for the camera. He was just at the stage of learning to sit on his own so much of our session was done on soft surfaces in case he wobbled over. I love these photographs of him

and how tiny his feet and hands are against his mum's hand

I also adore his old fashioned nappy - he reminds me of the baby off the fairy washing up liquid adverts!

I'm sure he has a modelling career ahead of him!

I also made up a new portrait session proof book from this session from a company I am hoping to work closely with in the future. My feedback on this book (I made up a spare copy for me to show people as I love the photos so much) has been immensely positive and it is a great keepsake from the session. I will put some photographs of the book itself with some descriptions on here so that you can get a feel for what they look like.

Naturally, with such a gorgeous little boy some of these photographs from this portrait session will be appearing on the galleries section of the website soon.

Charlie's parents have said that they are delighted with the photos and I am very much looking forward to hearing from them again once they have made their selection.

Bridal Shoot in the Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds

On the last Saturday in March I had the pleasure of working with a lovely lady called Claire Dunkley who designs some beautiful and unusual dresses. I had worked with Claire a few years earlier on a bridal shoot and was very much looking forward to seeing her again and her dresses. We started off early on the Saturday morning and had been given permission to photograph in the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds. Fortunately the weather was kind to us so we got to use no end of locations in there. Laura, our model for the day was superb to work with and was a complete natural in front of the camera.

I very much enjoyed doing something a little different with the poses and locations and being able to spend longer setting up some more posed images.

To begin with we photographed a gorgeous, vivid pink dress which I think looks beautiful against the yellow stone background.

We then went on to photograph a blueish purple dress with lots of ruffles that moved so beautifully with a swagger as Laura danced around catching the light perfectly.

We also photographed a lighter blue scallop dress which Claire had sown on thousands of sequins and beads all by hand. I like the contrast in this one of the blues and yellows.

As well as the more unusual dresses Claire does make the more traditional white wedding dresses as well. I love these photos taken of Laura outside the gardens with the dress flowing out behind her.

Overall, we were delighted with the end results and Claire is hoping to use many of these images in her publicity material. If you are looking for a one-off wedding dress then I would strongly recommend seeing Claire to see if she can design you the dress of your dreams. I will also be adding some of the beautiful wedding dress photos to the galleries section of the website shortly

I wish Claire all the best with her business and am looking forward to photographing some of her new designs next year. Thanks should also go to Laura (the model) for all her hard work and to Mille Fleurs (for making us up a small posy of flowers to use)

So Much Going On - So Little Time!

Where does the time go to? The last month seems to have flown by without me having had time to write on here. So, what have I been up to that's been keeping me so busy .... well, several portrait sessions, a few weddings, a bridal shoot, a holiday, many meetings, album designs, book designs, wedding fairs .... and that's just for starters. I'll try to write about some of the sessions and things I've been up to as from now until November time things won't be getting any quieter!

I know many of you have commented on how you like to read this and to see recent weddings and portrait sessions so I will try harder to set just a little time aside each week to keep it updated.
