Thanks to all who came and saw us yesterday

Wow - what a busy and successful The Suffolk Wedding Show yesterday. We met so many lovely couples that we hope to hear back from soon. Thank you all for taking the time to come and speak with us and your kind comments about the books, albums, us and our work.

As we no longer book weddings actually on a wedding fair day (we feel that couples should take their time in deciding on a photographer as it is a really important decision and one that we don't feel you should be rushed into making) we hope to hear back from many of you over the next few weeks regarding your dates and photographing your weddings.

As always it was a little sad that we had to turn so many people away as we were booked for their dates already but we wish all those couples all the best for their big days.

Next year is nearly fully booked now with only a few dates remaining so if your wedding is in 2009 and you are interested in us photographing your day we would advise you to get in touch asap to check availability. Yesterday we also saw a large number of couples for 2010 which is equally booking up fast, especially over the popular months (April-September seem to be our most sought after dates) so please get in touch soon if you are interested in these dates (plus you get 2008 fixed prices!)

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from many of you shortly. Our next wedding fair is currently on 15th February 2009 again at Ipswich School. I'll write more details on that nearer the time.

The Suffolk Wedding Show - Come and Visit me this Sunday (19th October)

Hi All, just a quick reminder to let you know that I am exhibiting at The Suffolk Wedding Show at Ipswich School this Sunday.

It's always lovely to see so many people so if you get the chance to pop in and see me (past, current or potential future couples) that would be fab. I'll have all the beautiful books and gorgeous albums with me for you to look at and will try my best to answer any questions you may have.

If you can't make it however don't worry there's plenty on the website for you to look at from the Wedding photographs taken in East anglia gallery to the proofs wedding photos section where there's a sample album and of course the Blog with recent weddings on.

If you have already booked but still have other aspects of your day to plan then this is a great place to find those suppliers. So here's the details for Sunday - please do check their website though for any little changes:

Sunday 19th October 2008 - The Suffolk Wedding Show, Ipswich School, Ipswich

Myles and Sarah's Wedding photographed @ Cley Windmill and Sussex Barns, Norfolk

To end our weddings in August we had the pleasure of working with Myles and Sarah. We photographed their Wedding ceremony at Cley Windmill followed by some Wedding photos at Holkham Beach and the Victoria Pub at Holkham and on to their Wedding reception for photos at Sussex Barns

Their day had so many different elements to it which all came together wonderfully.

To start with David went and photographed the boys who got ready at Sussex Barns I love this one of Myles laughing) whilst I went to get the girls getting ready actually at Cley Windmill.

For any of you who don't know Cley Windmill it is a beautiful venue near the Norfolk Coast with stunning reed beds. The only downside is that it can only hold less than 20 people in the ceremony room which means very small ceremonies. This is part of the reason why their day had so many different elements to it so more friends and family could be included.

So, for the ceremony only immediate family were present. Here's a few of those photos
Afterwards we did their group shots outdoors here and then some of just the two of them. Here's a small selection of them on the windmill balcony

They had hired a VW Camper Van for the week and arranged to meet close friends and family at the Victoria Pub at Holkham for Sandwiches after the ceremony which was lovely - once they had eaten I went with Sarah and Myles down to Holkham Beach (where they got engaged) to take some photos of just the two of them whilst all other guests went on to Sussex Barns ready for their afternoon and evening reception.
Here's some photos taken as we arrived at the beach, on the way down through the wood and then on the beach. I love the photos of the two of them so much I could have put no end on here!

Then the three of us made our way back for the reception where all their guests were waiting and we did confetti on their arrival here. We then did a few group shots but they wanted to do some that were a little different and had asked to do some walking, jumping and more fun ones. Here's a couple of them. In the evening they had a fab disco that played lots of good songs to get everyone up and dancing - boy did this lot of people like to dance which made for some fun dancing shots.
Here's their first dance
Followed by an overview of all their guests dancing

This was one of our longest days this year (we had to leave ours by 7am to be with them and weren't home until gone midnight!) but it was well worth it. Sarah and Myles were a wonderful couple to work with and we look forward to designing their album with them soon.

Sarah sent me the following e-mail a few weeks ago when their photos were first put online - we're pleased you love the photos as much as we do!

'Hi Hayley,

Thank you so much for sending the link through...they are brilliant! I
t was a great birthday present to receive them on my actual birthday!

Many thanks
Sarah & Myles '

James and Cheryl's Wedding photographed @ Elms Barn, Beccles

The following week we met James and Cheryl to photograph their Wedding at Elms Barn, Beccles. This was the second time in August we had been to this venue and yet their wedding was completely different.

This day had a lot of different elements to it. Firstly they had added an additional marquee for guests to eat the hogroast in (no formal seating plan) to keep it relaxed and informal. They had a bouncy castle, a play area for children, a magician (we had seen Noah Kelly a couple of years ago at a wedding and had recommended him to the couple - it was nice to see him again - he's very good at his job) and played rounders outdoors in the evening.

Right, let's go back to the beginning of the day. The weather forecast was not good (rain again) but fortunately Cheryl arrived with only a little drizzle of rain and the rain held off until after the ceremony so at least the guests arrived in the dry.

After the ceremony the heavens opened so we had to stay indoors for a little while. Here's a photo of one of the staff at Elms Barn holding up the roof of the Marquee and the rain trickling in!

During this time indoors they decided to do their speeches and cake cutting (fab smartie cake) Here's a few photos of that
As well as the main cake above they also had loads of little cupcakes with smarties on

After a while the weather cleared and we were able to go outside and take a few photos out there. Here's a few of those photos

Here's also some photos of the magician, guests playing rounders, on the bouncy castle and so on which helps give a real feel for their day.

In the evening they had a band playing. Here's a couple of photos of their first dance

This wedding had a wonderful relaxed feel to it which hopefully you can begin to see from the photos above. I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We wish Cheryl and James a wonderful future together and look forward to hearing from them soon regarding photos for their book

Fiona & Richard's Wedding photographed @ Ickworth Estate, Horringer

Next we met Fiona and Richard whose Wedding we photographed at Girton Church followed by The West Wing, Ickworth House, Horringer.

This is the first wedding for a long time where the Vicar has been ... let's just say less than pleasant to us. Basically, Fiona was running slightly late on the day and the Vicar was adamant that I would take no photographs as she arrived, during the service or basically at all. I really don't understand sometimes why Vicar's do this as the couples really want these photos as a lasting reminder of their day. True to his word as soon as Fiona and her dad arrived he practically ran them into the church. I took a few of this anyway (without interfering as the Vicar had requested) so they can at least remember what happened at this stage.

Somehow the camera also must have gone off a couple of times (without flash or noise) during the service which I'm glad happened (really I can't see the problem if you are quiet and you don't use flash, move or interfere with the service at all).

Here's the two of them walking down the aisle after the service

Then on to Ickworth. We had a different toastmaster this time (some of you may remember that we had trouble with a toastmaster here earlier in the year - still must write that up!) who was a pleasure to work with. Here's some photos taken of the two of them.

Here's their room set up at Ickworth

and a couple of photos of them cutting their cake and some close ups of the mini cakes which smelt gorgeous.

This was a short day for us as Fiona and Richard only wanted coverage through to the meal which was nice as we had a Saturday evening off. Here's them as they were announced in for their meal.

We enjoyed working with Fiona and Richard and are looking forward to hearing from them soon regarding their CD's and selection for their album. We are sure they will be very happy together. Thanks for the e-mail Fiona to let me know that you are very happy with the photos and thanking us for all our hard work.
