Katrina & Stuart's Wedding photographed @ Smeetham Hall Barn, Sudbury

I can't believe I've managed to write up a blog story in the month that the wedding took place - that has to be a first! At the beginning of July we photographed Katrina and Stuart's Wedding at Smeetham Hall Barn.

Smeetham Hall Barn is a lovely light barn and the gardens were beautiful which we were kindly allowed to use for photos. The sun shone all day and this has to be the hottest day we've photographed this year. Here's a selection of photos taken from their day

Here's Katrina's 'man-of-honour' doing her hair which looked stunning

I adore the next couple of photos - the first of Katrina looking towards the bridesmaids who had just got into their dresses and the second silhouette of Katrina

I love this vintage one of her shoes
Katrina coming down ready to leave and then her and her dad as they arrived at the barn

Here's Stuart looking at Katrina as she's just walked in and then a few from the ceremony

Katrina belongs to an amateur dramatics group and her friends from this sang 'It Must Be Love' at the end of the ceremony which was great

Katrina's mum Sue requested the large group shot to be taken across the pond - although guests aren't usually allowed in the garden the venue kindly agreed to let us take it

The bridesmaids were very good for such young children - here's one of the formals and then one of two of the girls playing

Katrina and Stuart hired Videographers Andy and Linda Welham from Any Occasions Videography
. As part of their dream sequence they got Katrina to run to Stuart - here's one of those photos followed by a couple of just the two of them

After their meal they had their speeches - here's Katrina's dad, Jim warming up the crowd followed by a few more photos during the speeches!

The man stood behind Stuart is Steve who we owe a huge thanks to as he was our Toastmaster for the day and was brilliant at helping us organise guests for the group shots

I love this one of Naomi (the youngest bridesmaid) who came and stood next to me during the speeches

Due to circumstances (the minibus that took the bridesmaids, family and myself to the ceremony was very late and as a consequence of this the service couldn't start on time and was over half an hour late) we didn't have much time to do photos of Katrina and Stuart before their meal so I took them for a little wander after their meal

The band in the evening were really good and Katrina even sung a number with them!

If you attended Katrina and Stuart's Wedding and would like to view their photos just ask them for the password and have a peep!

It was a pleasure working with you and your families and we look forward to designing your books with you shortly.

The Wedding of James and Vikki photographed @ Elms Barn, Beccles, Suffolk

We then had a short break for a week and went on our yearly hols - we went back to Madeira and had a wonderful relaxing break recharging our batteries. We came back feeling renewed and ready to go for the rest of this years weddings!

The next shoot was James and Vikki's Wedding which we photographed at Elms Barn, Beccles, Suffolk

We love Elms Barn as a venue as it has some beautiful gardens for photos and in June all the roses looked absolutely stunning.

Again, although we didn't have bright sunshine (we had an overcast day which is great for photos as it's often a more flattering light to work with) we didn't have rain either so could use the gardens for photos. All's been very well this year with weather (no doubt it will all change now I've said we haven't had a wet wedding yet this year!)

Here's a selection of photos taken from their day (their images were only put online at the beginning of the week so this is a sneak preview if you haven't got the password yet!):

Here's the girls getting ready - I love this one of Jane and Jean (two of the bridesmaids) with their rollers in. I'm sure they may not thank me for putting this one on here but it makes me smile everytime I see it!

Vikki having her make-up done

What a sweet little bridesmaid Izzy is - she beamed when she saw herself in the mirror in her bridesmaids dress

Whilst I was busy photographing the girls David was with the boys. He took them off into the garden to do a few photos beforehand - it was hot and I love this one of James (in the front) and his bestman wiping their brows

Here's Vikki arriving with her dad

And here are a couple taken during the ceremony. One of the highlights of my day was sitting at the front waiting to do a mock-up signing of the register (whilst they were actually signing) and the music playing was Imagine. I was knelt down near James' dad and Nana when Nana Anne joined in with the song - happily singing along saying 'I love this one' - it was very sweet and made me laugh so thank you Nana Anne

As I mentioned earlier the gardens are glorious and the roses were all in full bloom - here's a small selection of the ones taken of the two of them

I love this photo with a vintage effect on it

These were taken during the speeches and one of them doing their cake cutting

They had garden games before the dancing in the evening. Here's James throwing one of the garden darts followed by some of the dancing

Sadly, Vikki's mum Karen had injured her legs in an accident a few weeks prior to the wedding (I'm not sure which parts of her legs she broke falling out the loft but both legs were in plaster) but, she was great and still enjoyed all parts of the day and even came onto the dance floor in her wheelchair to join in

Vikki had a very simple bouquet which has to be one of the most fragrant ones that I have smelt this year - a gorgeous, heady mix of peonies, roses and freesias!

If you attended James and Vikki's Wedding and would like to view their photos they have just been put online in the last day or so. They have the password which I'm sure they'll share if you ask.

James and Vikki and their family and friends were all a lovely bunch of people and a pleasure to photograph. We are sure James and Vikki have a very long and happy marriage ahead of them.
