Hannah & James' Wedding photographed @ Upton, Norfolk

Sorry I haven't written on here in a while - we are in the middle of a very busy wedding season and don't have a lot of spare time at the moment to write up what we've been doing. Having said that we are meeting lots of lovely people, getting to take photos at some beautiful places and all in all we're having a great summer season.

The next wedding we photographed in July was that of Hannah and James. Their Wedding all took place in Upton, Norfolk. It was a church service followed by a marquee reception at a private venue.

Weather wise we had a bit of a mixed day. For the ceremony we had torrential rain, then after the ceremony we had about 10 minutes more of rain before it stopped. It then got brighter during the afternoon until we had bright blue skies and sunshine followed by a gorgeous warm evening light to top the day off. This made for some wonderful photos as they have very different feels throughout the day due to the differing light.

Here's a couple of photos of Hannah getting ready

This is Hannah and James' gorgeous little girl, Rosie who's just 9 months old and a real sweetie

As I arrived in the farm car park next to the church I walked past two of the ushers - I love this photo because it shows just how heavy the rain was at times

I love these of Hannah and her dad arriving and making their way up to the church

Inside the church we were allowed to take photos from the back and I was briefly allowed to take a couple from the front during the first hymn. Here's some from this part of the day

Once the rain had eased we ran out to do their confetti. It was nice to see so much confetti being thrown by the guests as it looks great in their photos

Here's the car Hannah had seen 14 years ago when she attended a wedding show with her grandparents and they had kept the leaflet they were given, got in touch and the company were still going!

Rosie looks so happy in this one as Hannah was lifting her above her head. I love the way the light has just crept through the trees lighting Rosie beautifully

We worked with Andy at this wedding from Any Occasions Videography which was good. Andy often does a 'dream sequence' with couples and I love photographing this. The photo below of Hannah reminds me so much of Nicole Kidman in a Chanel advert that came out a few years ago (that's quite sad isn't it that adverts have obviously sunk into my brain and that I remember that!). Both Hannah and James look so natural in their photos it made choosing a selection to go on here really hard as I loved so many of them

When Hannah had run to James the idea was that he would catch her and just do one spin if possible. James put lots of effort into this and swung Hannah round and round - I've never seen a bride being spun round so quickly or so high!

Here's just one of them before they went in for their meal

And a few taken during the speeches

During the evening we used the grounds surrounding the house and the marquee where there was a double hammock, meadow and a small orchard. Here's a selection of those photos that I love

Rosie didn't sit still for long - here's just one of the three of them

The marquee had a separate dance area with a funky black and white floor. The disco also had so many lights that they were lit from all directions! Here's their first dance

I love holding hands photos - this one I just find so sweet and touching

If you attended Hannah and James' Wedding and would like to view their photos they are online now. They have the password so please just ask them for this if you want to have a peep!

We had a wonderful time with Hannah and James and their families. They were a superb bunch of people and despite the rain everyone was so happy. Unfortunately James' dad, Bob had to go into hospital a week before the wedding so couldn't be there - we hope that the photos go someway to show him your day and that he has a speedy recovery.
Your proof book should be back with me soon and once I have this I look forward to designing your book with you both. We'd like to take the chance here to wish Hannah, James (and their daughter Rosie) all the best for their future - we are sure they will be blissfully happy and hope that they stay in touch.
