Angela and Simon's Wedding @ The Brook Hotel, Felixstowe, Suffolk

The next wedding we photographed was Angela and Simon's wedding which took place at the Brook Hotel in Felixstowe, Suffolk. We had good weather again and so it was nice to take just the two of them down to the beach (although the tide was unfortunately in) to take a few photos. Here's a selection from their day starting with Angela getting ready

Here's Simon arriving - he bought with him his quirky pipe!

Here's Angela arriving and coming into the church followed by some taken during and after the ceremony

After their ceremony all their guests went on to the reception whilst I went with the two of them down to the beach to take a few photos - I love these photos of the two of them

They did their speeches before they ate and here are a small selection of them

Finally, here's a small selection from their evening

If you attended Angela and Simon's Wedding and would like to view their photos they are now online and they have the password which I'm sure they'll give you if you ask nicely.

Angela kindly sent me the following message:

'Hi Hayley!

What an amazingly photographed day! Thank you so much for making us both at ease despite the excitement and stress of the day i am still amazed to this day - how did we ever do it? !! i think it helps that we had everything organised and we had people we trust to do the jobs well and we have had nothing but positive comments about the whole day!! You have both captured moments that we would have tried to capture ourselves if we had one of those matrix moments spanning the room !! all our Bridesmaids and Family are captured naturally and beautifully. I knew that when you met Simon on our second meeting after the Wedding Show that you are the one to do the photographs - Simon, like me, felt completely at ease and your style of photography was just what we wanted.

We are excitedly waiting on the proof album!!! we have had tears already!!!

Love from Angela and Simon / Mr and Mrs Dow-Wright
xx'

You are both a very kind and gentle couple who I am sure will be together for many happy years to come - we enjoyed being a part of your special day and wish you love, health and happiness for your future together. I can't wait to hear from you both soon regarding the photos you would like in your beautiful book and I look forward to designing it with you over the next few weeks.

New Trash The Dress Gallery and Reviews!

Just a quickie to let you all know that I have updated the wedding reviews section of our website to show some of the lovely comments we received from our couples last year.

We have also added a Trash The Dress gallery to our main galleries section. Here you'll see a selection of photos from a Trash The Dress session.

For those of you not familiar with a 'Trash The Dress' shoot basically the idea is that a couple can get all dressed up in their wedding attire at a later date and be a little bit more creative with photos of the two of them for example ... running and laying in the sea is something that we don't expect anyone to do on their wedding day itself but it can look fantastic in photos and so by doing a shoot like this you can achieve photos you've always dreamed of without getting messy on your wedding day. The dress isn't ruined at the end of it (although dry cleaning is likely) and it's a fantastic opportunity to get dolled up and wear your frock again. Other names we've heard of for the same kind of shoot are 'Cherish The Dress' and 'Rock my Frock'

Anyone interested in doing this kind of shoot just let me know. I don't have to have photographed your wedding to have one of these sessions after the day. Who knows you may just fancy doing something like this for a different wedding anniversary celebration!

Alison and Richard's Wedding at Brusiyard Hall, Suffolk

Just before we moved I photographed Alison and Richard's gorgeous, intimate wedding which took place at Bruisyard Hall, Suffolk. It was just me at this wedding as they were such small numbers but what a wonderful time I had sharing and photographing their celebrations. Bruisyard Hall is a lovely venue for smaller wedding parties - it feels like a home which makes it so special, the grounds are also beautiful. The weather was sunny and warm which was ideal as they had planned for an afternoon tea in the gardens. Here's some of the photos from their day starting with Alison getting ready and walking round to the ceremony with her daughter Zara

This detail was of her dad's ring tied into her bouquet as he had sadly passed away

Here's one of Richard followed by a few of them during the ceremony - I love the one of Morgan (their son) giving them the rings

Followed by a selection taken at the reception before their tea

Alison and Richard own a business that sells speakers and as a surprise Alison had got one of her very talented friends to make a superb wedding cake.  I also love the one of Zara looking at the cake - I can remember fondly from my own childhood the frustrations of waiting for a cake to be served!!! Here's also a few of their very lovely vintage afternoon tea

After I left they were going to have a very relaxed meal - Alison had decorated all the table beautifully (as you can see) and the favours were really sweet - butterfly photo holders for the girls and a beeswax candle for the boys

If you attended Alison and Richard's Wedding and would like to view their photos they are now online and they have the password which I'm sure they'll share with you.

Alison kindly e-mailed me the following message today:

'Sorry for the delay in making contact with you Hayley. We have received the proof book and are thrilled with the photos. Very relaxed style of photography and so many of our friends have commented on how nice it is to have some less formal photos from a photographer. We loved having you with us on the day and everyone said how unobtrusive, helpful and smiley you were! Thank you very much.
Alison'

I look forward to hearing you both soon regarding your selection and hope that the school fete you were preparing for today Alison went well. What a wonderful group of people you all were to work with - thank you for letting me share in your day. Zara and Morgan are gorgeous children who are a credit to you both. I wish you lots of love and happiness in the future and hope that you'll have a long and happy marriage.
