The Wedding of Laura and Ryan @ Dairy Barns, Hickling

The next wedding we photographed was Laura and Ryan's day which took place at Dairy Barns, Hickling. This is the first time that we have photographed at Dairy Barns and it was a fantastic venue. There were some heavy showers mixed with some glorious breaks of sunshine throughout their day - we took advantage of the breaks in the weather and all in all everyone appeared to have a wonderful day. Laura and Ryan are VW fans and Laura arrived in a VW beetle called Dolly. For all of you interested in hiring this type of vehicle we would highly recommend Champagne Classics who have a range of funky VW and old cars that are a little different

Here's a selection from their day starting with the boys deciding what tie one of them should wear

It's so lovely to see a groom wearing something which suits them and their personality

These two little ones were pageboys - they were both very shy but adorable!

Here's the bridesmaid who wore a stunning dress that is different to anything we have ever seen before - I loved it! Followed by Laura arriving with her dad in the VW and a few taken before she came in - she bravely took the decision to go under one of our giant white umbrellas and walk round how she'd planned despite the rain which worked fantastically in the photos

I was lucky enough after the ceremony to get to travel in 'Dolly' with them to go down to the nearby beach

These were all taken on an almost empty beach - you have to be thankful for the rain sometimes as mid-summer this would have usually been packed on a hot sunny day!  I love all of these ones so much

Usually my couples aren't this brave on their actual wedding day but they suggested paddling and I was more than happy to take the photos of it

Here's the little flowergirl who was quite shy but David managed to get some of her whilst we were at the beach - you have to love the wellies and needless to say with all the puddles the dress didn't stay that white for long

Ryan's feet were still drying when we arrived back

Here's Laura's beautiful bouquet

and Ryan's Pocket Watch

As this day had a retro and different feel to it (and I thought Laura and Ryan would appreciate the nostalgia element) I thought I'd try some old fashioned seaside style postcard effects afterwards - I am so pleased with the results

For any of you who've seen the Herbie movies this next one will make more sense!

If you attended Laura and Ryan's Wedding and would like to view their photos they are now online and they have the password which I'm sure they'll share.

Laura sent us the following e-mail after seeing the photos and a lovely thank you card after receiving their DVD:

'Dear Hayley,

Hope you are well. Hope you got my message i left on your phone, but just wanted to say again how thrilled we are with our photos. They are truly beautiful and we think you are very talented to capture the day the way you did x Both Ryan and I don't particularly like the camera in front of us generally, but its amazing how different we felt on our wedding day and the way you made us feel at the beach was so relaxed and that's also why we feel have such stunning images! we already have our favs! i love the one where i am on the road trying to sort my dress out, the one where you caught the wind catching my veil, the ones of us in the sea and the one of us walking out with the shoes in the fore ground (we actually LOVE all of the beach ones!) I also particularly love the ones of me and my dad walking with the umbrella over us! Can i just say also how amazing it was that i was unaware of most of the photos at the venue being taken, and they way you caught shots of the ceremony was great.

Thanks again, you did a perfect job and we couldn't wish for better photos. these will contribute to our memories in years to come - Thankyou again

with much love Laura and Ryan x x x x x x '

Laura and Ryan are a relaxed couple who were wonderful to work with. I didn't hear either of them moan about the weather and they were great at giving us the freedom to allow us to take the images as we saw it. You two are fantastic and we really do hope our paths will cross again in the future. We are certain you two will be together (and happy) for many, many years to come
