A portrait session with Fran and her family

Over the summer I got to spend some time doing some lovely lifestyle portraits which is a little different to usual for us (I usually undertake portrait sessions either in the Spring or the Autumn). 

My first session was spent with Fran and her lovely family.  We photographed their entire session in their garden which is stunningly beautiful.  This felt like one of the hottest days of the summer and I was pleased that we did this in the early evening with that 'golden hour' of light when it was a tiny bit cooler.

Portrait Session with Rosie

Eventually, here are some photos from my recent Portrait Session in Cambridge which took place with Rosie. For those of you who read this blog regularly you may remember that I photographed Katie and Jason's Wedding in 2008 and their baby Rosie in a Portrait Session last year when she was just a few weeks old. I feel very privileged to have been asked to photograph Rosie again now that she is just over a year old.

Just like last time I photographed her she was such a good little girl for me, no tears just happy and contented. Here's a sneak preview of some of her photos as I am waiting for her book to come back and so these will be the first time Katie and Jason can have a little look at some of her photos.

Apologies for not blogging in a while

Hello everyone - just a quick note to say I am still alive and kicking and to apologise for not writing on here in a little while as I know many of you like to read it to find out what we're up to.

I have been being a busy bee as usual and will write more on recent sessions soon.  I also thought I may try to write some blog posts dedicated to different aspects of a wedding day showing various photos to give those of you still planning your day some ideas e.g. recent flowers we've seen, cakes etc.  Please let me know if you think this would be something you'd like to read and be interested in seeing.

Will write again really soon and thanks to Katie and Rosie who I had a great portrait session with this afternoon! I love your photos already - Rosie is such a sweet little girl - I'll pop some of those photos on here in the next week or so.

Hayley Denston Photography Website revamped and relaunched!

We've been on our hols and are now back refreshed, recharged and ready to go! Looking forward to the next wedding already. Obviously, we have returned to loads of work, enquiries etc - we will get back to everyone as soon as we can.

Some good news on our return is that our New Website is now up and running. There are a few tweaks that need to be made but in general it is a big step up from the old site. We now have a slideshow which runs continuously on the Home Page - it was really hard to choose photos for the website as we have so many that we love. We therefore made the decision to choose our images from last year and this year (apart from the odd couple of
images) as this best reflects our current work and where we are at.

We now have an up-to-date About Us section which tells you a little more about us (and a photo as someone pointed out to me that we weren't on the old site!). We have a Wedding and a Portrait section to tell you a little more about what we do whilst the Galleries section shows you a small selection of our work. We've broken the galleries down into some pretty general catergories. Some of the photos therefore didn't fit into the section descriptions perfectly (we worked out we'd have needed over 20 galleries to accommodate all the different headings we
thought of) but we've included them anyway!

The Proofs section replaces the old 'your album' section but still goes through to all your albums that have been uploaded recently. This section is currently being redesigned to fit in with the new site - please be patient if it doesn't look perfect at the moment!

We have a completely new section called Reviews where we have just a small selection of the testimonials we received last year. We will still write up new testimonials on here and will add to this section on the site periodically. We get so many lovely e-mails and cards and we are grateful for all of them so if yours hasn't made it to this section this time round it may just appear in the future and has certainly been kept.

Other than that we still have a Links section which gives a list of other suppliers such as venues we've worked at and we've kept our Contact section so you can get in touch.

We hope that you all get the chance to look at the revamped site - as it is still in the early stages any comments you wish to make would be greatly appreciated so that we can update and tweak it to make it as perfect as possible. If you do want to comment please either add a comment on the blog here or e-mail me.

I could talk about the new site for pages but must get on with catching up on work. I'll write again very soon as I have several outstanding weddings to write up on here and a whole load of testimonials to add that we received whilst we were away. Ella's Portrait Session in Suffolk

The last session in April we photographed was a Portrait session taken in Suffolk of baby Ella.

This was another session that came about through me having had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Paul's (Ella's parents) Wedding we photographed back in 2006 at Stoke-By-Nayland Golf club, Suffolk.

When baby Ella arrived back in February they said I was the first person that they thought of when they decided they wanted some baby photos of her taken. I'm very pleased that they got in touch as it was a privilege and a joy to photograph them and Ella.

Ella is another beautiful little girl that I've got to work with recently. She was so well behaved and delightful to photograph. Here's a small peek at her photos. I adore these photos and am pleased that Sarah and Paul also love them!

Rosie - Baby Portrait Photography in Cambridgeshire

Continuing my portrait spree, my next Portrait session was with a tiny baby called Rosie. For those of you who read this blog regularly you may remember that I photographed Katie and Jason's Wedding back in September. Katie was pregnant at the time and here's the beautiful result, baby Rosie Lulu. I had the pleasure of spending a little bit of time with her just when she was just a few weeks old.

She was such a good baby for me, no tears just happy and contented. I love the photos of her so much (and so do Jason and Katie who saw the images a couple of weeks ago and have their proof book and DVD). Here's just a tiny collection for you to peep at.

Aren't her tiny hands and feet sweet! (with the feet photo I experimented with a new vintage effect which I think looks fab)

All my recent portrait sessions have been fantastic and I can't wait to put some of these photos on the new galleries section of the website when it launches! Mentioning the new site, we are currently sorting out some minor tweaks we've encountered and so, the launch has been put back a bit until these are resolved! As soon as the new site goes live I'll mention it on here though so keeping checking the blog over the next few weeks for updates!

Going back to talking about Rosie, Jason and Katie, it was lovely to photograph them both on their big day last year and now to have had the honour of photographing their gorgeous little girl. I really hope that they stay in touch and I get to photograph them all again as Rosie gets older (as well as any other additions to their family in the future).
