Spains Hall Wedding Fair - This Sunday (15th January 2012)
I hope that everyone has had a really good Christmas and start to 2012. We've had a lovely break and are now back in the office fully charged, revived and looking forward to a wonderful 2012
We are exhibiting at our first Wedding Fair of the year which is at Spains Hall, Finchingfield, Essex this coming Sunday. We are honoured to be one of three photographers selected from their very long list of photographers to attend this.
It's always great to meet lots of people so if you do get the chance to pop in and see us (past, current or potential future couples) that would be fab. We'll have all the beautiful books and gorgeous albums for you to look at and we will try our best to answer any questions you may have. Even if your day isn't happening at Spains Hall you can still attend and meet many different suppliers that might complete your day for you.
If you can't make it however don't worry there's plenty on my Website for you to look at and we will be exhibiting again in a few weeks time at the Suffolk Wedding Show on Sunday 4th March 2012 (more details will follow nearer the time).
So here's the details for Sunday - please do check their website though (http://www.spainshall.co.uk/) for any little changes:
Sunday 15th January 2012 - Spains Hall Wedding Exhibition, Finchingfield, Essex
10.30am-3.30pm
Free to attend (as far as I have been told)
We look forward to meeting lots of you and hopefully photographing many of your wedding days soon

Karen and Tona's Wedding at Spains Hall, Finchingfield, Essex
With all this wonderful weather we have been having it has been lovely to kick off our weddings for the year in glorious sunshine. Karen and Tona's Wedding took place at Spains Hall, Finchingfield, Essex. We had the most blue skies that I have ever seen at Spains Hall and they stayed with us all day. Their wedding was a fantastic day - they live abroad so organising it had been a little tricky and it had a mix of an english and mexican theme to it which worked well.
Here's a selection of photos from their day starting with Karen getting ready
Karen had a large selection of pearls to choose from so that they could match her dress perfectly (and the ones she chose looked fantastic)
Here's some of Karen arriving at the Church at Great Dunmow followed by a small selection of Ceremony and confetti ones
When they arrived at Spains Hall they had a surprise for their guests as they had hired a Mariache Band which were amazing - here's a photo of the band and one taken later when they were leading the guests to the stables for their meal
We were lucky that Karen and Tona had booked the hall as well as the stables so we were able to take photos in many wonderful locations throughout the grounds. Here's a small selection of them
Here's just a couple of them coming in for their meal and one of them exchanging cookies which were a part of their cake
If you attended Karen and Tona's Wedding and would like to view their photos they are online from today. They have just been e-mailed the password which I'm sure they'll share with you!
I look forward to hearing from them both when they've had the chance to go through their images. We very much enjoyed meeting all their friends and family and sharing in their day. They were a gorgeous couple to work with and we hope that you have a very long and happy marriage.
We would also like to thank Spains Hall and all the staff there who, as always, were very helpful to us and a pleasure to work with - we look forward to seeing you again later this year for more weddings

The Wedding of Tessa & Orlando photographed @ Spains Hall, Finchingfield
The following week we were back at Spains Hall to photograph Tessa and Orlando's wedding. As any avid readers of this blog will know Spains Hall is one of our favourite venues to work and it's easy to see why.
We had glorious weather which was great for guests being able to play the garden games and stay outside. As always, the staff were brilliant and it was great to see you all again. Tessa and Orlando had chosen a colour scheme of lilac which fitted in perfectly with the Wisteria that was in full bloom and looks just amazing in their images.
Here's a range of photos taken from their day:
This one is of Tessa and her dad just before they came into the ceremony
These were taken during the service and again we were lucky the registrars let us shoot (without flash) at both the front and back of the room

After the ceremony they were showered by confetti as they led their guests through to the gardens
Here's some of those garden games being played

and a shot of the beautiful Wisteria that I mentioned earlier which frames them well ......
....... even the Irises matched in with the purpley theme
Spains Hall have let the grass grown really nicely in the area surrounding the gardens and it was great to get to do some photos here

Here's just a couple of photos from the speeches

They had a lovely cake but I couldn't get over how wonderful the little bride and groom toppers were which were modelled on the bride and groom!

If you attended Tessa and Orlando's Wedding and would like to view their wedding photos they are online now. They have the password which I'm sure they'll give to you.
A couple of days ago I received a beautiful thank you card from them which read as follows:
'Dear Hayley,
We wanted to say a big thank you to you and David for the amazing job that you did photographing our wedding. You were so wonderful to work with on the day - a very calming and cheerful presence and you managed to take so many photos without us even noticing. Now that we've seen the photos we're even more delighted - you've taken so many lovely shots and have really captured people's personalities as well.
The photos are a fabulous reminder of a wonderful day for us and now we're looking forward to designing the album with you.
Thank you once again for everything
Very best wishes
Tessa and Orlando'
Thanks so much for letting us know what you thought of the images. We really appreciate you taking the time out to write to us and are looking forward to your album design meeting soon. We had a fantastic time with the two of you and your families and wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

Jason & Jackie's Wedding photographed @ Spains Hall, Finchingfield
The last Wedding we photographed at Spains Hall in October was Jackie and Jason's day.
This is a wonderful venue that we love working at and in comparison to last week's weather this one was superb. We saw the return of the lovely autumnal light which looks great in their images.
I started with Jackie getting ready at Crest Lodge at Spains Hall. Here's a couple of those photos.

They actually got married at Finchingfield church - here's some photos of Jackie arriving with her son and the bridesmaids (their daughters)as well as some during the ceremony.

I love this one of them and their children taken afterwards

followed by the confetti

before we went on to the pond area in Finchingfield to do a couple of photos there before returning to Spains Hall for the reception in the Walled Garden.

Here's some I love of them taken back at Spains Hall.

After their meal we had the speeches. The bestman bought Jason some underwear as part of his speech - he had left a sticker on them though saying they were on offer - 2 for £10 (I think that was the offer). Jason then joked about only getting one pair saying he thought that the bestman had only bought them to get new pants himself. The bestman then revealed he was wearing the other pair. Here's the sequence of photos from that.

When the speeches had finished everyone had to come out the room so that it could be turned around for the dancing. Jackie and Jason came out first as she'd organised a chocolate fountain as a surprise for him. Here's a couple of those photos.
Have a quick peek at their cake!

This week we were fortunate to have a full moon and no cloud making for wonderful bright skies at night. Here's a photo of the two of them in the moonlight which I adore.

For the dancing they had practised their first dance which was great. They had a Frank Sinatra singer who kept everyone entertained. Here's a few photos of the dancing

I really enjoyed this wedding and Jason and Jackie were a lovely couple to work for. It was great meeting up with them both last Friday to go over the final designs for their books. I'll be in touch again soon when they're ready for you.
