Wedding Detail Photographs Idea of the Day - Bridal drinks and things to help on a hot day!

We strongly advise our brides to make sure they've had something to eat and drink on the big day itself as we have seen a bride faint (due to both heat and a lack of food and drink). 

Having a bottle of water hidden somewhere (at the front of the church or civil venue) is never a bad idea especially on a hot summers day. 

Another great idea for those hot, balmy summer weddings is a really pretty fan.  We've also seen a different take on this with a couple providing those tiny electric hand held fans to all the guests which went down very well when temperatures were well over 30 degrees!

When our brides are getting ready we often see the bubbly coming out at this stage - this one was extra special with a strawberry in




When we photographed a wedding last year in New York I just loved this shot of the New York Starbucks Mug with a Twinings Mint Tea teabag in it (so English) to ease the brides nerves

In my opinion nothing beats a good cup of tea!

Wedding Detail Photographs Idea of the Day - Little Bit of Faith

I just love these little details to show the brides faith which isn't always obvious.  Both of these had also sentimental value for the brides involved as they were family heirlooms.

We often see crosses on necklaces but less often a little tiny hidden jesus on a cross sewn into a brides dress or Mary on a brooch attached to a brides bouquet.  I think they are both lovely.

The bride also classed the blue shawl on Mary as her something blue

Wedding Detail Photographs Idea of the Day - Something Blue

For those of us who are a little superstitious and wish to follow the old rhyme:

'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue'

Here are a few ideas for how to achieve your something blue!

A hair clip with a blue crystal in if your having an 'up-do' can be hidden in all your hair

If you have a dress that is quite thick you could be brave and go for a brilliant blue garter!

This was a really sweet touch - the brooch was both sentimental to the bride and her something blue

Blue underwear is a great way to get in your little splash of blue (although again only if your dress material is thick enough to hide them!).  Thank you to my brave bride (who shall remain nameless on this post) for alerting me to your special pants!

This is the way we most often see 'something blue' with a tiny blue bow sown into the brides dress (please do let us know if you have something sewn in to one of the underlayers of your dress as it isn't always obvious to see) - sometimes we also see a lucky six pence sown into the underlayer netting!
