Gemma and Paul's Wedding Photographed at Bedford Lodge Hotel, Newmarket

Our last wedding we shot in September was Gemma and Paul's Wedding which we photographed at Bedford Lodge Hotel, Newmarket

September was probably one of the best months in terms of weather for us and we had yet another wonderful day. Here's some photos of Gemma coming down for the ceremony, sharing a moment with her dad just before and being handed over to Paul

During the ceremony we got a lot of lovely photos of Gemma and Paul. Here's just one of them
During the vows Gemma said the wrong words at one point which made everyone laugh. I love these two photos taken just after she's realised what she said!

As couples come out of the ceremony we obviously try to get photos of them coming down the aisle. In most cases this works really well but this time (and this is the third time this has happened to us this year) a well meaning guest decided to step out directly into the aisle in front of us at just the wrong moment - here's that photo below. Although, it's not quite how we wanted the photo to look I guess it still tells the story of the day and as we don't set shots like this up if something like this happens you just have to make the most of it!

Straight after the ceremony Gemma and Paul wanted to do the photos of the two of them on their own. This is a slightly different way of doing things for us as we would usually take the couple away towards the end of the drinks reception after they've had plenty of time to mingle. As always we are happy to accomodate what couples would like though so we did their photos first followed by the group shots

They wanted to do a walking shot of the bridal party which worked really well

After the meal they did the speeches - here's just one of those

Then later on in the evening they had a magician and a disco. It's always a little tricky working with magicians at night as the cameras sensors can show how tricks are being done - still we managed to get a few fun ones of him performing - here's one of them where he made Gemma's Wedding ring float!

And one of their first dance

Once they'd had a few dances, I took Gemma and Paul away for a short time to do a few more photos of the two of them in a side room I'd spotted earlier in the day. I love these photos.

As this wedding was a recommendation through Zanna and Paul (who's wedding we photographed last May at Chilford Hall) it was lovely to see so many people who we'd met at their wedding. It's really nice for us to follow through groups of friends as each of them get married and it adds that little something extra to the day for us.

Another fantastic wedding for us to end September with. We wish them both all the best for their future together and a long and happy marriage.

Gemma sent us the following lovely e-mail after seeing their photos:

'Hi Hayley,

Oh my god the pictures are amazing, we both love them and so do our parents. You and David have done brilliantly and really captured everything we wanted and more.

I love every single one but have a few real favs. The one of me at the top of the stairs with my shoes out is fantastic and the one of me and my dad with our shoulders up and the group shots are briliant and I love all the pics of me and Paul.

We are so happy you were there to photograph our very special day!

Gemma'

Thanks for letting us know what you thought Gemma. I can't wait to get together with Paul and you over the next month to design your album.

If you attended Gemma and Paul's Wedding and would like to view their wedding photos they are online now. They have the password which I'm sure they'll share.
