The Wedding of Elspeth and Tom @ The Maltings, Ely, Cambridgeshire

Next up we photographed Elspeth and Tom's wedding which took place at St Mary's Church in Ely followed by their reception at The Maltings in Ely. We had met both Elspeth and Tom (and some of their guests) previously at Tom's brother Mark's wedding which we had previously photographed. It's really lovely for us to follow through groups of friends and relatives as it's nice to see a lot of familiar faces and to be able to catch up. Elspeth and Tom had mixed weather for their day - it remained overcast and looked like it was always close to raining but it actually only rained a very tiny bit on us towards the end of the group shots and when we were doing the confetti. Here's a selection of photos from their day starting with Elspeth getting ready:

This red car had huge significance as Elsepth's parents had exactly the same car for their wedding!

David started with the boys and here they are walking to the church (stopping for a quick drink at the pub on the way!)

The bridesmaids dresses were really different and beautiful - I love the way the white band round the middle hung at the backs of the dresses

The vicar was really kind in letting me stand at the front and David at the back so we got a lot of gorgeous photos during the ceremony

These next few are taken back at The Maltings and then down by the river there

There was a distinct colouring to the bricks which we used in some of their photos

Tom's mum made the cake and it looked fantastic

Elspeth sent us a lovely e-mail once they had received all their images which reads as follows:

Elspeth and Tom were so relaxed and chilled out for their day it was great for us to photograph and share it with them. They are a really lovely couple who we wish nothing but happiness for. We are sure that they will be together forever and have a very long and happy marriage - we hope that we'll see you again in the future.
