The Wedding of Kath and James @ Blackthorpe Barn, Suffolk

The next wedding we photographed in August was Kath and James' wedding which took place at Blackthorpe Barn in Suffolk. We had slightly blustery weather but gorgeous sunshine too for their day so we could enjoy an outdoor reception.

Here's a selection from their day starting with me joining Kath getting ready at Blackthorpe House whilst David started with the groom and guests arriving at the barn:

Kath had her twin sister Ros and James' sister Sarah as bridesmaids - Sarah had kindly recommended us after seeing us photograph one of her friends weddings last year (Alice and Chris' day) and it was great to see her again

Kath looked amazing in her dress

Kath's dad came up to see her in her dress for the first time

Even though Blackthorpe House is right next to the barn they still had a lovely old vintage car to drive them round

Here's the boys arriving

James looked very excited and dashing in his suit

The barn looked beautiful, it was incredibly dark though as the venue shut all the doors during the ceremony and there was very little in the way of lighting which was a bit of a shame but none-the-less we still got lovely photos during the ceremony

Fab confetti ones (I always adore confetti shots as they're so relaxed with everyone enjoying themselves)

This old, gnarly tree trunk looks brilliant in photos and thankfully it was dry so they could sit on it

What a happy couple

Each of the children at the wedding breakfast had a gorgeous bear and gift bag awaiting them

Whilst the adult favours were jars of homemade chutney

The speeches were all good and very emotional in places

A gorgeous cake that the two families had made between them

Kath decided to throw the bouquet in the evening and I think we can see quite a few people here keen to catch it

James' sister Sarah caught it (let's keep our fingers crossed that this might just be a future wedding we'll get to be a part of!)

The band really added a great atmosphere to the evening and an already brilliant day

If you attended Kath and James' Wedding and would like to view their wedding photos they are online now, there is a password but I'm sure they'll be happy to share it with you.

Kath and James are a lovely, relaxed and sweet couple that we're certain they've got many happy married years ahead of them. We love their images so much and are sad their day's now gone but look forward to designing their album with them soon.
